![]() ![]() I am hoping that the iridium plug change-out is going to be a smooth, uneventful affair that gives another 90,000 miles without ANY problems or upset in any way. Please respond if you can contribute to out collective understanding on this forum. I regapped them from out of the box of about. I had taken the irridiums out after only a short time due to performance issues. The old plugs with 25,600 miles had achieved a gap of. In most cases, that gap is indicated on the package. I am trying to get as much feedback from this forum as I possibly can.I would have to think that there are MANY of us who have changed out spark plugs. There is what I would like to think relatively few occurances of the code flashing that have seemingly been reported. Now,could it be a one-off situation where the spark plugs were not correctly gapped to begin with,or possibly had been tampered with(not very likely,I would think)that would account for the codes to be thrown.Very possibly those of us who have a deep knowledge and appreciation of the smart may have a more advanced viewpoint to share.
